HP presents the EliteBook 705 G6 and the mt45 thin client with AMD Ryzen PRO processors
HP introduced the new laptops with AMD Ryzen PRO Mobile processors: these ar the EliteBook 705 G6, available in 13 and 14-inch versions, and the 14-inch thin client MT45.
HP has announced the new generation of HP EliteBook 705 G6 series laptops and the new HP mt45 Mobile Thin Client. In both cases, these are solutions built on the basis of second generation AMD Ryzen Pro Mobile processors.
HP EliteBook 735 G6 and HP EliteBook 745 G6: Second generation Ryzen for business
The new HP EliteBook 705 G6 laptops (the EliteBook 735 13-inch and the EliteBook 745 14-inch) inherit many of the features from the previous generation, starting with the aluminum body and the connection ports remained the same. These laptops are equipped with a reduced number of ports (two USB 3.0, a USB Type-C, an Ethernet, an HDMI) which prove to be sufficient for most use cases, thanks to the USB Type- port C and its versatility.
Particular attention is given by HP to security: both from a physical point of view, with HP Privacy Camera (the webcam can be blacked out with a special cover) and HP SureView v3 (the screen has reduced lateral viewing angles to prevent other people from peeking contents), which from a software point of view, with HP Sure Sense, HP Sure Start for AMD and HP Sure Click.
The new generation integrates improvements in terms of collaboration: the HP Noise Cancellation feature allows, thanks to a third microphone facing outwards, to eliminate environmental sounds to focus attention on the voice; the speakers, on the other hand, have been improved and now offer better sound quality. As on the previous generation, there are specific keys for using software for collaboration.
Inside there are the new AMD Ryzen Pro Mobile processors: specifically the Ryzen 7 PRO 3700U, the Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U and the Ryzen 3 PRO 3300U. All processors integrate Radeon Vega GPUs in various variations. In our dedicated article you can read more details about Ryzen Pro Mobile processors.
HP mt45 Mobile Thin Client: the portable thin client for mobile collaboration
The new HP mt45 Mobile Thin Client also uses the new AMD Ryzen platform, using the AMD Ryzen PRO 3 3300U processor with Radeon Vega 6 GPU. The thin client looks almost identical to an EliteBook 745 G5 / G6, both at the screen diagonal design equal to 14 inches, but does not offer the same software as it uses the HP ThinPro system based on Linux or, alternatively, Windows 10 IoT.
The HP mt45 Mobile Thin Client is designed for collaboration and for this reason, it has the same options as the ” full ” models: the third microphone facing outwards, the keys for collaboration and improved audio, to which is then added to a touch screen.
As a thin client, the HP mt45 is designed for use in combination with a VDI or cloud environment on which to carry out the main operations and for this reason, the device does not offer processors with superior computing power like the other products. It is designed for mobile work forces that perform well-defined tasks and need a platform with the highest possible level of security.
