HP Specter Folio, here is the premium laptop with leather upholstery
The new HP Specter Folio, a convertible with a metal body, but lined with genuine chrome-tanned leather, is undoubtedly very special.
HP has announced the new HP Specter Folio, a laptop that intends to revolutionize the premium sector with materials that we hardly see in this sector. The coating of the new notebook is made of genuine leather, for a product that appears on the market as ” the first PC convertible in leather ” ever marketed. With this new product HP intends to combine a timeless design, different from its competitors, with the latest technologies available today.
HP Specter Folio uses chrome-tanned leather, for a feature that does not want to be just aesthetic. According to the company, it is a durable material that also provides a natural frame, so as to obtain a device that is both resistant and versatile.
It is clear that with the new design HP wants to guarantee a great timeless elegance, while offering something never seen on the market, except through enclosures to be installed after purchase. Two colors are available for the new product: Cognac Brown and Bordeaux Burgundy.
The laptop can be set in different positions with one hand: among those available, we have the traditional position from the notebook, the curtain, and that typical of the tablet. To hook the modules in different positions we think of a system of magnets shrewdly positioned along the body. As for the technical base, we mention a fanless design guaranteed by the low-power processors of the Intel Core i5 and i7 families (Y-series) of eighth generation, while the audio of the four front speakers is curated by Bang & Olufsen.
We also have up to a maximum of 16 GB of RAM, up to 2 TB of storage on SSD and two Full HD displays, one with 300 nits and the other with 400 nits with low power consumption for viewing even in extremely bright environments.
By the end of the year, there will be a further variant in 4K Ultra HD resolution, while all models have a diagonal of 13.3″. On the operational autonomy, HP claims that it can reach up to 18 hours on a single charge, so the whole working day can be covered without particular worries.
The new model also implements a ” global ” modem with support for LTE Gigabit networks, with the aim of providing an always-on experience even when away from home, and there is support for Dual eSIM technology, thanks to the two present slots (one with support for a Nano SIM, the other with an integrated eSIM).
As for prices and availability, the pre-orders are already active in the US on the official website at a base price of $1,299 for the version with Core i5. The variant with Core i7 and LTE instead will cost starting from $1,499. The latter should be available for first deliveries by the end of October, while the 4K Ultra HD panel variant will be sold at the end of December, together with Bordeaux Burgundy color.
