iPhone 5S vs iPhone 6 – Comparison and Differences

The new Apple smartphone, the iPhone 6, has impressed as usual, disappointed, convinced and confused. A little fault Apple effect: it generates emotions in their clients, and even resentment on the part of the customer is not.

The Power of the iPhone 6

Change, of course, the processor used in the two phones. And what of the iPhone 6 is much faster and more powerful than iPhone 5s. The new A8 chip, according to various benchmarks, is 25 percent faster than the A7 processor used by iPhone 5s. But it’s the graphics that you remain amazed. The new processor is nearly 50 percent faster and more powerful when it comes to games and graphics applications. The processor dedicated to the movement is a step forward, literally. The M8 is now able to measure movements in 3 dimensions, and is even able to count the steps made in a scale by using a built-in barometer.

But the camera of the iPhone 6 has not improved much

It is an iSight camera 8 megapixel camera with aperture f / 2.2. Although iPhone 6 introduces a new technology, called by Apple ” Focus Pixels “, which should improve the autofocus and shooting in difficult conditions.

On the software, side has improved a lot the application used to take pictures and record video. Now you can get 1080p video recording at 30fps and 60fps, plus you can record slow-motion video at 240fps compared to 120fps iPhone 5s. It remains to be seen whether these features will be available on the iPhone 5s via update.

Memory and Battery

Greatly improves the battery of iPhone 6, and is an important thing because in this way you can get, even if a little fatigue at the end of the day with the phone still working. On paper, just to give a measure of the difference, iPhone 5s promised – and roughly maintained – 10 hours of talk time in 3G. iPhone 6 promises up to 14 hours, which means a total range greater than 20-30 percent, approximately.

It is still lacking, even in iPhone 6, housing for microSD cards while increasing the available internal memory. iPhone 6 is available in 3 models with 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB. Compared to the iPhone 5 disappears 32GB model (the choice of which, incidentally, mica has understood the motivation) and the first Model 128 GB.

iPhone 6 and iOS 8

iPhone 6 comes with already installed the new version 8 of the iOS version that improves many things, adding new widgets, refining the notifications center and bringing a new keyboard. But iPhone 5s received the update to iOS 8 September 17, a short time ago, and as a result from software point of view the two phones are equal.

On the iPhone 5s will not work, the new application Apple Pay, which is also one of those interesting because it allows you to pay via NFC shopping done at the supermarket, or a sandwich at McDonald, and everything you buy. But it must be pointed out that Apple Pay is active now, only the United States and no one knows when it will arrive in Italy. Personally, I think very soon, at least in the retail chains who have already signed agreements with Apple, but it is said that it spreads rapidly.

Conclusions

So to conclude, iPhone 6 is actually better in almost all respects and could be justified by a change of phone iPhone 5s to iPhone 6. Although, Apple Pay aside, there’s no real innovation for which iPhone 5s can be considered obsolete or change. And Apple Pay is not yet active in Italy, so it’s worth serious consideration if you spend $749 to buy an iPhone 6.

Not cheap, especially in proportion with what it offers in more than iPhone 5s. And personally, if I may make a suggestion, would be inclined not to change an iPhone 5s with an iPhone 6, Maybe an older model, yes. Because in that case, the innovations and improvements are significantly higher, and the price is justified. But this is just my personal opinion.
