KEF LSX Wireless Speakers: High quality is wireless and compact
KEF presented the latest addition to its speaker catalog: the new LSXs allow a completely wireless system, while promising excellent acoustic performance.
The new KEF LSX loudspeakers aim to offer many of the features and features of the LS50 ” big brothers “, which have earned a lot of recognition in the audiophile community, while significantly reducing both size and price.
The KEF LSX are speakers that can be used either with a classic cable connection or in a completely wireless mode. In any case, you can choose from a wide variety of connections: aux (3.5 mm), optical (TOSLINK), network (Ethernet or WiFi 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 with aptX codec). It is also possible to combine a subwoofer with a dedicated output to the speakers.
The two speakers can communicate either by cable or wireless, and in this second case a truly wireless system can be obtained. The main difference between the two modes is the maximum sampling rate: if you opt for the cable, you get to 96 kHz, otherwise it stops at 48 kHz; the depth is still equal to 24 bits.
The direct connection to the Net allows to have compatibility with the main streaming services: Spotify Connect and Tidal are both supported, in the second case through the KEF Stream application. There is also support for Apple AirPlay 2, and an application for controlling inputs and equalization is available.
LSX use the same system that sees the woofer and the tweeter insist on the same center, so as to offer a single point of origin of the sound that should improve the amplitude of the soundstage. The amplification is entrusted to two 30W amplifiers and another two 70W amplifiers in Class D.
