Kingston has announced KC2500, a new family of M.2 NVMe SSD intended for desktop PCs and workstations. The new offering has a PCI Express 3.0 x4 interface, SMI 2262EN controller, and TLC 3D NAND memory with 96 layers.
The new range comes in four capacities from 250GB to 2TB with sequential read and writes performance of up to 3500 and 2900 MB/s respectively. The maximum random performance reaches a ceiling of 375,000 IOPS for reading and 300,000 IOPS for writing.
The drives are equipped with automatic encryption, with end-to-end data protection support using 256-bit XTS-AES hardware cryptographic technology. This allows you to use third-party software (such as Symantec, McAfee, WinMagic, and others) with TCG Opal 2 security management.
The Kingston KC2500 also features support for Microsoft eDrive features, a storage security specification for use with BitLocker. The KC2500 is covered by a 5-year warranty and free technical support. As for the resistance, the 250GB model guarantees 150TBW, with doubling for each unit up to 1.2PBW with the 2TB model. At the time of writing, Kingston did not disclose the prices of the new units.
