LG and Samsung will produce OLED displays for the next iPhone

According to information sent out during the last hours, the two Korean producers will be the next supplier of OLED displays for the next-generation iPhone.

According to a report published today in Korea by local media, Samsung and LG are about to sign an agreement with Apple to bring the factories of the two giants eastern producing OLED screens for the iPhone for future generations. The two producers have already been hired to produce the display of the current Apple Watch and LG could continue to produce displays for the successor to the smartwatch of Cupertino.

LG also will upgrade its production lines to make them more efficient and thus getting the most from this deal with Apple. The company will use a production system of the sixth generation still in test phase, the results of which are not yet known then. Some speculations indicate a request greater than about 30% in favor of LG, compared to Samsung, as regards the number of panels to be produced.

OLED Display for Smartphone

According to a representative of KGI, known to some previous information regarding exclusive own the giant California, the first OLED for iPhone will be produced in 2019. The analysts, it says that the current suppliers of LCD displays for the iPhone have made the investments that would be unnecessary if Apple decided to equip its smartphone OLED before 2019.
