LG Watch W7, Half smartwatch, half traditional watch
During the presentation of LG V40 ThinQ, LG announced its first hybrid smartwatch: LG Watch W7.
LG Watch W7 is a wearable device that combines mechanical movement and digital features; LG’s new accessory has Wear OS by Google as an operating system and is designed for consumers who appreciate a traditional look but want at the same time the useful features of a connected smartwatch.
LG Watch W7 is equipped with high-precision quartz movement and real hands enclosed in a stainless steel body. Connected to a smartphone, LG Watch W7 is estimated to have a two-day autonomy with a single charge, which extend for another 3-4 days by switching to analogue mode. The company claims that, if used as a simple mechanical watch with its ” smart ” functions disabled, the watch can reach up to 100 days without requiring a recharge.
The analog hands show additional information such as altimeter, barometer, stopwatch, timer and compass indications. Thanks to the presence of Google’s Wear OS, LG Watch W7 can take advantage of all the functions that the operating system offers: customization in many different ways with particular quadrants and other elements available online. In addition, the watch is compatible with any standard 22 mm strap.
Availability and price of LG Watch W7 will be announced in the related markets at the launch.
