To upgrade to OS X 10.10 you will need a Mac capable of running OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion or OS X 10.9 Mavericks. This does not ensure that all the features of OS X on your Mac will be available Yosemite Unfortunately, Apple has yet to announce what features will not be available on older terminals.
In any case, Yosemite to run OS X, the Mac will have 2GB of RAM, 8GB of storage on the hard disk, and at least OS X 10.6.8 already installed.
