Microsoft Surface Phone will be there, but not before the second half of 2016
New sources say Microsoft Surface Phone, the smartphone Windows 10 flagship x86. The device will be marketed in the second half of 2016.
That the Surface is working on a smartphone is not new. During a visit to Building 87 where they are processed products of the family of Microsoft, Wired had spotted some prototypes. The question was whether Microsoft really had the intention of selling a similar product, event that seems to be getting closer to being brought to completion. Even the release of the new Lumia 950 actually has raised some concerns. The latest generation of Microsoft smartphones are very interesting from a technical point of view. However, the lack of premium materials and several precautions stylistic typical of the family suggests that this is not the real high-end Microsoft. However, it seems that the wait to see Surface Phone on store shelves will not be short, with the model that will debut in the second half of 2016.
Sources close to Microsoft have revealed that the smartphone Windows 10 hardware-based Intel planned for May 2016 was canceled, wrote WindowsCentral. On the other hand, it has been given the green light to a new flagship phone designed by Panos Panay and the team of engineers who created Microsoft Surface and Surface Book. This product is probably expected for the upcoming fall season, and could be the long-awaited Surface Phone.
The source says that Intel’s involvement in the manufacture of the product, but we do not know what will be its distinguishing features. It is yet to be seen whether the device will be able to run x86 applications (Win32), also through external dock, nor do we know if from the point of style will be resumed the style of the line 2-in-1 tablet of Microsoft.
