Microsoft wants to renew the interface of Windows 10: Here are the new icons

In the last period, Microsoft has announced the restyling of the icons of the Office package. It has not happened for 5 years the latest icons date back to 2013. The new style provides even more minimal icons: each application has its own exclusive shape and a specific color, as usual, but the theme is only sketched with large pixels and space to the imagination.

In the video posted on Youtube by the Redmond company, we are shown these new icons, but if we look closely we can see some small details. Around the second 40, you can also see other updated icons, not just those of Office.

As shown in the image, in the Start menu, some operating system icons show different aspects, the applications Photos, Mail, Calculator, Calendar, File Explorer and News are identified by new symbols. It had been a long time since Windows 10 gave a refreshed general to the interface, but now the moment seems to have arrived.

Although there are already these images in circulation, the new icons are not to be given for certain, but Jon Friedman, Head of Office Design of the company, confirms the intention to adopt a style and a common language for all products and services of Microsoft: ” It’s the beginning of an effort that will extend to the whole company, in order to update the icons with the same style. ”

There are obviously no certain dates on this graphic update, but it is expected to arrive in the first major update of the spring 2019.
