Minix Neo N42C-4 is a mini-PC with Windows 10 Pro and a lot of expandability

Minix has unveiled its latest product, called Minix Neo N42C-4: a mini-PC with an interesting hardware and operating system Windows 10 Pro. Particularly noteworthy is the expandability of the device.

The Minix brand will not sound new to those who are accustomed to dealing with mini-PCs: this Chinese company has established itself as a reference among the names coming from the East. The latest announced product is called Minix Neo N42C-4 and is a mini-PC with Windows 10 and Intel Pentium N4200 processor.

The heart of this device is the quad-core processor accompanied by 4 GB of DDR3L RAM and 32 GB of eMMC 5.1 memory. There are two SODIMM slots and an M.2 2280 slot that allow you to further expand the capabilities of the device.

Because of the need for processor dissipation, the Minix Neo N42C-4 is equipped with an active cooling fan; unlike the vast majority of these products, there is no complete silence when the mini-PC is switched on.

MINIX NEO N42C-4Perhaps the most interesting aspect is its size, contained in just 14 x 14 x 3 cm. Despite such small measures, Minix has inserted three USB Type A ports, a Type-C USB port, a 3.5 mm jack, a Gigabit Ethernet port, a mini-DisplayPort port and an HDMI 1.4 port. Wireless connectivity is entrusted to 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2.

The pre-installed operating system is Windows 10 in its 64-bit Pro variant – a choice that may seem unusual, but Minix specifically targets those business or industrial environments where a mini-PC of this type is needed.
