At the CES 2016 in Las Vegas debuts new solution JAQ of myFC of which adds to the technology already developed by the manufacturer design more rakish pointing portability: the base we find a fuel cell with proton exchange membrane.
Stay dry charging is one of the problems of the modern era, a time when all we need is often stored in the memory of our smartphones, so as to make us completely bewildered when we find ourselves not to use ports. External batteries, the power bank, have become companions of our days, by coming to the rescue when the energy bar of our cell begins to report the reserve and we cannot charge the terminal using the mains.
An alternative to the batteries (which need to be recharged themselves) is that of fuel cells: there is great interest in this area, although the success of these solutions in recent years has been lower than expected by the most optimistic. At the CES in Las Vegas debuts new solution JAQ of myFC, which adds to the technology already developed by the manufacturer design more rakish pointing portability.
At the base, there is a fuel cell with proton exchange membrane, the technology which has the advantage of allowing to create lightweight devices and little bulky. At the anode, a reaction occurs that strips electrons off hydrogen: at this point, the protons can pass through the membrane serves as the electrolyte, while the electrons pass through an electric circuit. At the cathode instead of oxygen in the air reacts with the electrons arriving from the circuit and with the ions H+ passed through the membrane, giving as a reaction product of simple water.
The fuel for the reaction at the anode is supplied to the system, in the case of the device of myFC, by disposable cartridges of water and salt. The device can supply 1,800 mAh, able to fully charge some batteries of smartphones (the most recent have more capacious battery, 2,000 mAh and above): JAQ can be used to provide energy to a wide range of input devices to 5V. The advantage of this type of solution is the ability to be used anywhere, including aircraft, and not requiring a recharge preventive; on the other hand each cartridge is disposable (thus generating garbage) and to have more refills you need to have with him several cartridges.
