Netgear unveils new Nighthawk X8: Tri-band WiFi router AC5300
The AC5300 router is especially designed to support the growing number of devices connected to the network and to meet the needs of users and the new IoT products universe.
During the last hours via a press release issued globally, Netgear, known manufacturer of networking solutions has officially announced the new WiFi router Nighthawk X8 AC 5300 (R8500) which, as expected, extends the Nighthawk solution’s family.
According to recent surveys conducted by various research companies in the technology, as a result of the use of mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets, the families of today have more than 12 WiFi devices to be connected to the network.

The Nighthawk X8 offers interesting performance, reaching under optimum conditions a speed of 5.3 Gbps (1,000 Mbps + 2,166 Mbps + 2,166 Mbps): an excellent result for a home router. Characterized by a sober but modern design, the Nighthawk X8 has a Dual Core 1.4 GHz three bands with WiFi Quad-Stream and MU-MIMO. The router has six Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports to support multiple simultaneous connections.
In addition, you can transfer files more quickly thanks to the ” Trunk Ports “, which allows you to aggregate two available ports. Through aggregation, it is possible, for example, to double the connection speed of a Gigabit NAS to allow operations such as streaming of 4K content, faster backups and faster file transfers.
The Nighthawk X8 is equipped with dynamic QoS: This feature recognizes each application and device, allowing a better distribution of network traffic. In this way, the R8500 provides a network connection more effective for gaming, streaming, file transfer and navigation from any mobile device and PC.
The new Nighthawk X8 is equipped with eight antennas, four internal and four external active antennas, which ensure an increase of the flow rate WiFi. Unlike the classic dishes that simply transmit the signal they receive from connected devices, active antennas amplify the Wi-Fi signal in the same external antenna.
