New Acer TravelMate P6 and P2, robustness and new specifications
Renewal of the Acer range also with regard to the TravelMates with the P6 and P2 models, in the name of robustness and intended for the professional sector. Here are some of the specifications that have been communicated to us.
Acer announces the new TravelMate P6 and TravelMate P2 professional notebooks for the professional world, with 14 and 15-inch screens, processors up to Intel Core i7 vPro up to the tenth generation, Windows 10 Pro and compliant with US military-grade standards MIL-STD 810G.
The new Acer TravelMate P6 boasts a magnesium-aluminum alloy frame, which helps maintain weight in just 1.1 kg; the thickness is only 16.6 mm, thus ensuring excellent portability. The declared autonomy is high, which is up to 23 hours, but with the quick charge, it can reach 50% of the battery charge in less than 45 minutes.
Optional eSIM-enabled 4G LTE connectivity allows users to work even without Wi-Fi connections. For the work area to be mentioned is also the Microsoft Teams certification, as well as a series of four microphones that detect the voice up to 2 meters away, excellent for teleconferencing.
Certified ” Project Athena ” by Intel, the TravelMate P6 should guarantee great responsiveness (fast SSD), instant recovery from standby, and great autonomy, which we have already mentioned. The new notebooks with Windows 10 Pro are equipped with processors up to Intel Core i7 vPro, DDR4 memory up to 24GB, graphics up to NVIDIA GeForce MX250, and SSD up to 1 TB PCIe NVMe Gen 3 x4.
Acer TravelMate P6, compliant with MIL-STD 810G and 810F standards, boasts an above-average resistance for any accidental hits or falls, as well as for water, humidity, and extreme temperatures.
On the security front, we mention compatibility with Windows Hello and the fingerprint reader integrated on the power button or via the IR webcam that uses biometric facial recognition. When the webcam is idle, the camera can be closed for added security.
The integrated Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 chip offers hardware-based protection for passwords and encryption keys. Acer ProShield preloaded includes a suite of security and management tools that helps protect sensitive data. At the same time, Acer Office Management allows IT managers to implement security policies and monitor resources from a single interface.
Quite similar to Acer TravelMate P2: 4G LTE, Wireless Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), MIL-STD 810G standard compliance (slightly less than the P6), TPM 2.0 module, fingerprint reader and Windows Hello. Under the body Intel Core i7 processors up to the tenth generation and an optional NVIDIA® GeForce MX230 GPU, up to 32GB of fast DDR4 memory, a configurable dual-drive disk subsystem with capacity up to 1 TB HDD and PCIe 3.0 x4 PCIe SSD 512 GB.” Project Athena ” is not compatible, the presence of an HDD being contemplated.
