The market for premium compact was until a few years ago a piece of important prestige brands of photo reports: now sandwiched between compact with a large sensor camera and the prices more and more bargain has less luster than in the past.
It remains a segment loved by a good number of fans and brands that have always manned to continue to put on the plate of the news about it.
Canon has just churned out his new Canon Powershot G16, the successor to the previous Canon Powershot G15. Rather than a real, renewal is a refreshed: Canon fact remains faithful optics 5x zoom F1.8-2.8, characterized by a good brightness not only to the minimum focal length of 28mm, but also to the maximum of 140mm and format CMOS sensor 1/1.7″, 12.1 megapixels.
Again, we find the DIGIC 6, which should ensure improved performance of the sensor under different points of view, including the operating speed, the dynamic range and the noise reduction. The machine goes up to 12,800 of sensitivity.
It is part of the DNA of the Powershot G series the wide availability of manual controls, now with a control dial on two levels. The machine can record movies in Full HD resolution in MP4 format, and also with the possibility of being transcoded in-camera, compressing the clip size (up to 88% less) for a quick and easy sharing on smartphones and tablets, thanks to Wi-Fi connectivity, which is another novelty of the new model. Canon Powershot G16 will be on sale by the end of September 2013 to the suggested retail price about $500.
