New Core i3 and Pentium coming, but still family Haswell

Intel provides an extension of its range of processors for socket LGA 1150, adopting the proposals of the family Haswell. The new 7 models are the Core i3 and Pentium series.

During the third quarter of the year, Intel will make available for the first architecture-based processors Skylake, code name that distinguishes solution Core family built with technology. This does not limit in launching new Intel architecture-based processor’s Haswell, with models belonging to the family Core i3 and Pentium.

They are all type solution’s dual core with HyperThreading technology that is enabled in the solutions of the family Core i3 but is absent in the Pentium. The TDP varies from a minimum of 35 watts up to 53-54 Watt for versions having no suffix T: in both cases the values are compatible with the cooling systems of compact dimensions.

The following table shows the technical specifications of the new processors expected to debut, as indicated by the CPU-World website.

Model Cores Threads Frequency L3 cache Graphics TDP
Core i3-4170 2 4 3.7 GHz 3 MB HD 4400 54 Watt
Core i3-4170T 2 4 3.2 GHz 3 MB HD 4400 35 Watt
Core i3-4370T 2 4 3.3 GHz 4 MB HD 4600 35 Watt
Pentium G3260 2 2 3.3 GHz 3 MB HD 53 Watt
Pentium G3260T 2 2 2.9 GHz 3 MB HD 35 Watt
Pentium G3460T 2 2 3 GHz 3 MB HD 35 Watt
Pentium G3470 2 2 3.6 GHz 3 MB HD 53 Watt

To note how the CPU Core i3 adopt GPU computing power from the top, with the HD4600 and HD4400 models depending on the version of the processor, compared to the Intel HD graphics combined with the Pentium. This approach is usually followed by Intel, so as to better diversify its proposals on the basis of the purchase price at which they are conducted while remaining unchanged the underlying architecture of the CPU component.
