Intel introduces 4 processors the family of Braswell, based on production technology of the latest generation and for this reason can provide a level of power consumption very low. Yesterday Microsoft announced Surface 3, new tablet with 10.8-inch diagonal display that takes in much of the design and technical characteristics of the upper Surface Pro 3 in combination with a lower price, without prejudice to the ratio of 3 : 2 between the two sides of the screen and the video resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.
Product Microsoft has chosen an Intel Atom x7-Z8700, equipped with quad-core architecture with a clock frequency of 1.6 GHz and default 2.4 GHz with Turbo Boost mode. This model belongs to the family Cherry Trail, the name that identifies the Intel low-power built with 14-nanometer production technology designed for the combination in tablet systems.
Alongside these Intel has made available other models, belonging to the family known by the code name of Braswell and intended for use in desktop systems of small size, in laptop systems and 2-1 type of entry level. Thanks to the site CPU-World emerged the technical specifications of the first Intel CPU 4 of this family, belonging to the series Celeron and Pentium.
The architecture of these processors provides a design with modules each with two cores, each core with which it shares with the adjacent L2 cache. Depending on the type of processor are one or two of these integrated modules, for a proved to be 2 or 4 core without L3 cache to act as a link between the two modules. The TDP is indicated in 6 Watts, except for the model Celeron N3000 that it gives up part of the base frequency clock for a reduction of up to 4 Watt TDP.
