Microsoft has just launched the roll-out of the new Microsoft Edge on Windows 10, but the distribution process will be slow and – in the first few weeks – expected only for a strictly selected pool of users.
The download and installation of the new browser involve the complete replacement of Edge from Windows 10, with the old UWP version, which will be eliminated and will no longer be accessible.
The installation can be launched via Windows Update, but Microsoft will determine the date of the extended roll-out. Some users may see the update package right away; others may wait days or weeks.

The browser is currently available for Windows 10, as the old Edge, but also for Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, and macOS. Moreover, through the dedicated stores, Edge can also be downloaded on iOS and Android, both on smartphones and tablets.
