The new Plantronics RIG gamer headsets come with Dolby Atmos included
Plantronics has announced the new RIG range of headphones for gamers. Compatible with Windows 10 and Xbox One, the headphones are all equipped with an active noise canceling microphone.
Plantronics has announced three new headphones for gamers and compatible with Dolby Atmos technology. It calls RIG 400LX, RIG 600LX and RIG 800LX, the three headphones are available for purchase worldwide.
The Dolby Atmos technology, integrated in Windows 10, allows you to reconstruct a 360-degree sound scene that returns information on all three dimensions, including height. The technology has so far found the favor of soundbar producers, but it is also breaking through the market for audio products for players because of its ability to make the player more aware of the origin of the sounds and potentially more able to react to the situations.
All three headphones use 40mm drivers and use resonators to improve bass response without introducing additional distortion. The frequency response curve of the three models suggests a full-bodied and powerful bass, with less pronounced mids and highs.
On all three models, there are integrated microphones with active noise cancellation that allow you to speak both when playing and using headphones with a smartphone. There are also physical commands to adjust the volume.
Plantronics states that the battery of the 800LX RIGs has a duration of 24 hours, which allows you not to worry about the state of the battery while you are playing. The integrated fast charge allows you to get up to 3 hours of play with 30 minutes of charging.
