Nokia 7.1 Plus: Finally Snapdragon 710
Nokia 7.1 Plus (in China sold as Nokia X7) was officially presented: unlike the younger brother, in this case we find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor that makes it even more interesting from a performance point of view.
Nokia 7.1 Plus (Nokia X7 for the Chinese market) has been officially announced in these hours. This is the older brother of Nokia 7.1, which was presented only a few days ago, but with the Plus version the news is even more interesting. Here’s what you need to know about this model.
The new Nokia 7.1 Plus has a 6.18″ front screen with Full HD resolution and a ratio of 18.7: 9. This is because, as for the ” standard ” version, we find the notch / notch in the upper area so as to increase the screen/body ratio.
The panel is classified as PureDisplay (as for Nokia 7.1) supporting the conversion between SDR video to HDR in real time, a brightness of 500 nits and a contrast of 1500: 1 covering 96% NTSC of the range and supporting the DCI color space. P3. Compared to the younger brother, we also find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC that promises better performance than Snapdragon 636 in addition to a number of new features.
The amount of LPDDR4X RAM varies depending on the 4 GB to 6 GB versions (the storage space is respectively 64 GB or 128 GB expandable with microSD up to 400 GB). Nokia 7.1 Plus has a dual 12 MPixel rear camera (Sony IMX363 sensor) with 1.4 μm pixels, f/1.8 aperture, OIS and EIS.
The second camera has a resolution of 13 MPixel with aperture of f/2.4 and is used for depth data (useful for effects such as bokeh). It could not miss, given the processor, the detection of the scenes through Artificial Intelligence.
On the front, integrated into the notch, is the 20 MPixel camera dedicated to selfies: the pixels in this case have a size of 0.9 μm while the focus is fixed. In the lower area, there is a USB Type-C connector that allows the charging of the 3,500 mAh battery with an 18 W battery charger included in the package.
Nokia 7.1 Plus has not abandoned the 3.5 mm audio jack that is present while the connectivity is almost complete with support for LTE (cat.6), 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, GPS, GLONASS, Beidou and Bluetooth 5.0 while the NFC is missing.
The operating system with which it is launched on the market is Android 8.1 Oreo, but will be updated to Android 9.0 Pie as soon as possible. The approximate price of the latest model of HMD Global, in euros, amounts to little more than 200 euros for the 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of storage while it rises to about 300 euros for the 6 GB RAM version and 128 GB.
