Olympus OM-D E-M1 – Check the new top model

Solid Workmanship
The pre-production model of the E-M1 system camera convinced: Clean built-up materials and rich momentary switch and rotating wheels – that should satisfy even the most demanding photographers. Two new professional lenses
Along with the camera, Olympus provides two new pro lenses. Fast auto focus with old lenses
So far, all system cameras from Olympus worked with a so-called contrast auto focus. Disadvantage of this method: really fast that only works if the lens and camera are matched. The new sensor has an additional so-called phase-change auto focus – works faster and with all lenses. In direct comparison, the class E-M1 with the older zoom lenses Olympus Zuiko Digital ED 12-60mm f2.8-4.0 SWD almost as fast as sharp as the new standard zoom lens.
Better viewfinder and built-in Wi-Fi
The electronic viewfinder now has 2.38 million pixels instead of the previous 1.44 million. As a result, his performance has been significantly sharper. The new viewfinder has another advantage: the image has become much larger. Also new: The E-M1-Fi is on board. In addition, photos can be sent to your smartphone or tablet and remotely control the camera.
Settings such as exposure mode, ISO speed, aperture or shutter speed can be made from a distance. A prediction anywhere in the image ensures that s the camera focuses on that point and then triggers. The photo can then, for example, further work on the tablet.

The new Olympus OM-D E-M1 has the makings of professional equipment, if the first impression is not deceptive. How well the E-M1 is really, soon shows the test of the standard model.
