Overclocking and Watercooling for Aorus GeForce GTX 1080Ti Waterforce WB Xtreme Edition
Gugabyte proposes an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti GPU based on overclocked GPUs, obtained with a custom PCB and the use of a liquid cooling system.
Powerful GPU and Liquid Cooling System: This is the combination of Gigabyte with the Aorus GeForce GTX 1080Ti Waterforce WB Xtreme Edition video card, which can provide performance beyond NVIDIA’s reference design with the GPU’s overclocking.
Specifically, Gigabyte offers base clock frequencies of 1,607 MHz and 1,721 MHz boost clocks, compared with those of 1,480 MHz and 1,582 MHz of NVIDIA specifications for the GeForce GTX 1080Ti Founders Edition card. Gigabyte also allows you to bring the GPU to higher values through its own OC mode, which can be activated via software tools. In this case, we pass on 1,632 MHz base clock and 1,746 MHz boost clock.
Nothing changes from the memory side to the NVIDIA specifications: we find GDDR5X modules at the actual clock frequency of 11 GHz, with the possibility of manual overclocking via software. Power is provided by two 8-pin connectors each, while an HDMI connector is provided on the back of the card to interface the video card with a virtual reality viewer through a door on the front of your case.
The liquid cooling system features a waterblock that covers almost completely the PCB of the card, positioned in contact with GPU, video memory and power circuitry. The waterblock is connected to its liquid cooling system, even in cascade with a possible waterblock mounted on the CPU or other video card installed in the system.
There are 3 Display Port 1.4 connectors, two HDMI connectors and a DVI Dual Link port on the back of the card. This is the same configuration implemented by Gigabyte with its GeForce GTX 1080Ti video cards equipped with a traditional air cooling system.
