Panasonic today announces new high-performance mirrorless LUMIX DMC-G7. Many advanced features, including Photo 4k, which extrapolates from 8 Mpixel photos from movies to 30 fps, to make sure you never miss the moment.
Panasonic today announces new LUMIX DMC-G-7, the latest in the range of mirrorless Panasonic high performance. The watchword for this camera, ” 4K “. Not only it takes 4K video, but prominent feature that Panasonic has in some way, already used with surprising GH4.
The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G-7 also has an original 4K Photo function, which extracts the video stream from 8-megapixel images recorded every shooting ” video cameras ” : 30 fps.
Three modes 4K Photo available. The first is called 4K Burst Shooting and allows you to record up to 29 minutes and 59 seconds of video at 30 frames per second using the camera as with the traditional burst, or by holding down the shutter button. The second is called 4K Burst (Start / Stop); like the first, it is activated and terminated by pressing the shutter button.
Finally, the third shooting modes is called 4K Pre-burst and automatically records 30 frames in the second antecedent and another 30 in the next pressing the shutter button, offering 60 perfect opportunity to seize the moment. This mode is more automatic and, probably, the most interesting of the three.
All modes Photo 4K support different formats (3,840 x 2,160 – 16:9, 3,328 x 2, 496 – 4:3, 3,504 x 2,336 – 3:2 and 2,880 x 2,880 – 1: 1), and are instantly activated thanks to a special ring nut on the left side of the machine body.
The sensor is the familiar 16-megapixel Live MOS, flanked by the Venus Engine quad-core offering computing power in abundance for many advanced functions: Continuous shooting at full resolution 6 (Continuous AF) or 8 (Single AF) frames per second, compensation function of diffraction that improves the yield at smaller apertures, Multi-process Noise Reduction.
The computing power also allows to implement the technology Panasonic Depth From Defocus (DFD), which creates a kind of map of depth to enable effective tracking of the subject even in the presence of an AF system, contrast detection. The focus requires, according to the manufacturer, only 0.07 seconds.
Another strength of the LUMIX DMC-G-7 is the EVF, a dual OLED 2,360,000 points with a magnification of approximately 1.4x (about 0.7x in 35mm format). The rear monitor Adjustable Free-Angle instead has a diagonal of 3″ and a resolution of 1,040,000 points.
