Philips presents the 43-inch Momentum 436M6VBPAB PC monitor
Interesting presentation by Philips: Here is a new model of 43-inch monitor for the PC world. 4K resolution, MVA technology, HDR and Ambiglow technology are some of the features that distinguish it.
Philips is a brand that certainly needs no introduction, although active in almost all cases in the consumer-electronics sector. But the attention of Philips are also addressed, at least in part, to the PC world, as evidenced by the presentation of a really interesting display, namely the model Momentum 436M6VBPAB.
In addition to a very elegant aesthetic, like the one that has long distinguished the Momentum series (better known abroad than in Italy), the display puts on the table some solutions for some unique ways, such as the Ambiglow technology already seen on TV, which can project into the back of the screen and towards the walls a halo of soft light in sync with the colors reproduced on the screen, to the benefit of a more engaging and relaxing experience.
The screen is a generous 43 inches with 4K resolution (3,840 × 2,160 pixels) and HDR, meeting the HDR1000 and UHDA specifications. Regarding the realization technology, we are facing the consolidated MVA, which is a good compromise between all the most appreciated features in a monitor. Philips chooses not to ” lose weight ” towards an extreme reproduction of colors or record response times, opting for something that is open to a wide audience. Here are some of the features, which we will comment just below.

It can be noted that the HDR, despite the certifications, is not among the most advanced on the market. The panel is indeed an 8 bit, which relies on FRC (frame rate control) technology to ” gain ” additional colors. Other features to report are the maximum frame rate of 60Hz, the peak luminance of 1000 cd/m2, coverage of the BT.709 color space is 100%, which falls to 97.6% for DCI-P3.
The declared consumption, in typical use, is 162W, which may appear high but is in line with panels with a diagonal so high, which we remember to be 43 inches and a ratio of 16: 9. The angles of vision declared are 178° on both axes, while there are now widespread anti-fliker technologies and the reduction of blue.
The new display is compatible with the FreeSync technology of AMD, while the HDMI 2.0 inputs, DisplayPort 1.2, mini DisplayPort 1.2 and USB-C (DP Alt mode) are also worth mentioning. Also present two USB 3.0 connectors with fast charging functionality.
