Adobe has announced that it will soon be available for a version of Photoshop CC for laptops with the Chrome OS operating system of Google. The basic idea is the launch of Project Photoshop Streaming, a new service for the use of the well-known image-editing program entirely via a web: the Chromebook are fewer powerful computers to run complex programs like Photoshop.
This will run on Adobe’s servers, which will be responsible also for the calculation of changes to the images that, after processing, are stored on Google Drive.
In addition, the version of Photoshop that will not be complete, but a small (not in the same way as the one for iOS) devoted mainly to the education sector, the market for which they were designed the Chromebook and the Project Streaming Photoshop.
It can take advantage of the new program all subscriber’s Americans a Creative Cloud package that includes Photoshop, even if fitted with a Google account and a computer with Chrome OS.
Also this version of Photoshop Creative Cloud is part of the strategy and in order to install the software on your Chromebook you must adhere to one of the educational initiatives related to Creative Cloud. It will be a version of Photoshop usable stream, with the ability to easily integrate with other cloud services from Google.
With respect to the features offered by Photoshop on other applications can already see some important differences. It will not be provided for such functions related graphics acceleration offered by the GPU, the available options from version CS4. It will also be more complicated print: Chrome OS is to use Google Print and cannot be connected directly to a printing device Chromebook.
