Photoshop on Apple iPad: the news for the end of 2019 and 2020
Photoshop has officially arrived on Apple iPad recently! But Adobe does not want to stop here and has anticipated some of the news that users will be able to enjoy between the end of 2019 and 2020. All obviously touch-proof.
As a tool for productivity and content creation, Apple iPad (especially in the Pro version) has gradually taken hold. In the field of photo editing, it was natural that an application such as Adobe Photoshop would also make its debut for iPadOS.
The first version of Adobe Photoshop for iPad only debuted a few weeks ago, but the company has already given users the opportunity to know which features will arrive in the future (through updates).
If initially, Adobe focused on an interface that can be used with touch screens (just thinking of Apple iPad) in addition to the possibility of using .PSD files on different platforms and finally to give a consistent experience in different environments (for example: example from desktop to tablet ). But, we are only at the beginning of a journey that will include many other innovations.
The future of Adobe Photoshop on the Apple iPad
One of the novelties concerns the arrival of the ” select subject ” functionality which allows, by using the Adobe Sensei AI, to select a part of the image automatically. It doesn’t matter if the subject will be particularly complex, Adobe Photoshop will succeed in facilitating the user’s task and speeding up the creative process. Reportedly, this feature will arrive in 2019.
The second novelty concerns the synchronization of files via the cloud so that you can simply access all documents from both iPad and desktop wherever you are. Several optimizations have been made that allow incremental saving of changes to .PSD files. (thus reducing the necessary space but also increasing the speed).
According to Adobe, even if a single pixel of an image is modified, Photoshop will be synchronized with the cloud to save the changes. Again, we speak of 2019 as an introduction to the novelty.
In 2020, there will be the introduction of Refine Edge so as to be able to obtain complex and soft selections of the edges on subjects with particularly articulated margins. Then there will be some news on the management of the levels that will support the non-destructive changes on the images, also bringing different options.
Also in 2020 there will be a new management of brushes and the ability to rotate images more simply in Adobe Photoshop for Apple iPad.
Finally, there will be an integration of the workflows between Photoshop and Lightroom thus allowing to process the raw images in the latter and then import them into the first. All obviously optimized for iPad.
