Plantronics Voyager 8200 UC, active noise cancellation for working anywhere.
Active noise cancellation and protection from volume peaks. These are the main peculiarities of the Voyager 8200 UC, wireless headphones that prove to be a trusted ally for those who work in crowded and noisy environments.
Who said tools for working don’t have to be stylish? The Plantronics Voyager 8200 UC, available in both black-and-white versions, seems more like a product dedicated to music lovers than a work tool. As the name also suggests – UC stands for Unified Communication – they are in all respects, a device dedicated to professionals, the most demanding ones.
Plantronics Voyager 8200 UC – simultaneous connection with two devices
This Poly model designed for Unified Communication scenarios has a not negligible advantage. In essence, it can be connected with two devices at the same time, for example, the smartphone and the notebook, to be sure not to miss important calls even if you are concentrated on another job, maybe listening to some music in the background.
Despite the appearance, there is also a microphone, and although it is not equipped with the classic rod, the quality of the conversations remains high.
The microphone can be excluded if necessary, but there is no risk of forgetting it off and of speaking empty: when engaged in a conversation, an acoustic warning will warn us if it has been disabled. At that point, just pressing a button reactivates it.
Active noise cancellation to eliminate any distraction
The Plantronics Voyager 8200 UC is equipped with a very useful feature both for those who work in crowded environments, and consequently, noisy, and for those who travel frequently: active noise cancellation.
An array of four microphones picks up all the sounds coming from outside and adds them in counter phase to the audio signal, thus eliminating the background noise, the noise of the subway, the roar of the engines of the aircraft engines.
Two modes are available, one softer and one more aggressive, for the noisiest environments and also by activating the latter. The sound quality remains high. An important detail, especially when listening to music, perhaps during a long journey: you feel completely isolated.
Just move one of the pavilions from your ear to stop the reproduction and ” re-immerse yourself ” in the surrounding world. A very convenient function, the latter, since you just have to take the headphones off to put them into standby, and do not risk consuming the battery unnecessarily.
A single charge ensures approximately 24 hours of playback. In case of an emergency, it is still possible to resort to the classic cable.
The connection is based on the Bluetooth 4.1 standard, and a USB wireless adapter is included in the package so that it can also be connected to desk phones equipped with this interface. The maximum range of the signal is approximately 30 meters.
A headset that even IT likes
The Plantronics Voyager 8200 UC is compatible with Plantronics Manager Pro software, which allows the IT team to check the inventory of company devices, remotely support users in their configuration, and access usage statistics, all via a browser. A useful aspect, especially in the field of Unified Communication.
Ultimately, we liked these Voyagers a lot. They are comfortable to wear, easy to synchronize with the devices, and very comfortable to use, both for work and for leisure, thanks to an excellent quality of reproduction, so much so that they could also meet the needs of audiophiles who often move for work.
