Presented the Kindle Fire HDX – The highest peak of the tablet from Amazon
Amazon has made tablet for every pocket with Kindle Fire today but aims at something more with the new Kindle Fire HDX line which joins the HD constituting the highest peak of its offer. The Kindle Fire HDX are always two, one 7 ” and the other from 8.9″, both available with an addition of $ 90 than the previous HD models.
The design continues to be rather minor in the product, very simple and straightforward, completely black, with the only twist in the arrangement of the buttons along the back frame. The ” B side ” is rubberized but the upper area is more rigid plastic and creates a nice sharp edge.
Amazon also worked on the reduction of size and weight, especially in the larger model that now is significantly thinner (7.8 mm). Very high-quality display which proved to be 1,920 x 1,200 (323 ppi) in the model 7″ and well 2,560 x 1,600 pixels (339 ppi) in the 8.9″.
Underneath the body, we discover interesting new hardware also. Most of the technical specifications are shared by the two models and are based on an 800 quad-core Snapdragon 2.2 GHz, GPU 330 and 2GB of RAM.
With this hardware, we have three times the performance, double the RAM and greatly improved graphics than four times the HD models. The front camera can shoot at 720p while the rear 8MP unit with LED flash, HDR mode and 1080p video. Also valid autonomy with a stated life of 11 hours in full use (12 in the model from 8.9 ” ) and 17 for read-only.
With the HDX comes the Fire OS 3.0 (code-named Mojito) which improves the user experience. The classic carousel of icons is now less relevant because at the bottom, you have a full grid with the app, a real drawer-style Android.
Among the various new mail client is also a new much more comprehensive, which also supports the labels in gmail, and a revolutionary system of technical assistance that allows you to talk and see the remote operator while it suggests the commands to press the screen to solve our problems.
The new line will join the HDX HD or, rather, you will be positioned on top with $90 difference for the same model. It starts with a 7″ Wi-Fi 16GB – $229, and you add $40 for each upper cut (32GB/64GB). In the model 8.9″ instead of the base is $379 for the Wi-Fi only 16GB which you need to add $50 for each jump of memory (32GB/64GB).
