Renewal of Range: Crucial Announces SSD Value BX300
New SSD Series for Crucial, which adds to its list of new Solid State Drives of the BX300 series made with NAND 3D chips and Silicon Motion controllers, going to the lowest price range.
The SSD market is expanding; more and more enthusiasts who experience the awareness of how such units can literally twist, at best, the performance of a system that is born with a mechanical hard drive. To encourage sales, prices are also really affordable even for 120-240GB units, well below $100.
In this price range, there are many producers present, which have created lines designed just to cost little and offer great satisfaction.
They are 6Gbps SATA drives, so no PCIe, but they are still a huge leap in terms of performance compared to mechanical disks. Crucial announces the renewal of its BX series, calling it BX300, realizing a line for the entry level of the market.
The Crucial BX300 uses the Silicon Motion SM2258 controller in conjunction with Micron 3D NAND chips, delivering a product that features the typical performance of these 6Gbps SATA drives (about 550MB / s read and 500MB/s in writing). The 3 range is divided into 120GB, 240GB, and 480GB, thus confirming the intention to reach the audience with lesser economic availability or intent on spending less.
Crucial BX300 drives are under a three-year warranty, and offer Acronis True Image HD for data migration.
- Sequential Read 555 MB/s / Sequential Write 510 MB/s
- Random reads/writes up to 90K on all file types
- More than 300% faster than a typical hard drive
