Rokinon: Two new lenses for Canon EOS R
Rokinon has announced two new lenses designed for Canon’s full-frame mirrorless. In particular, we are talking about the 14 mm f/2.8 and the 85 mm f/1.4 that now support the Canon RF attack. Here’s what you need to know.
Rokinon has announced two new lenses that can be used on Canon full-frame mirrorless (EOS R and EOS RP). This is an expansion of the range already launched in the past and which includes support for a wide variety of attachments and cameras.
In particular we are talking about the Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 and Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 models, which will thus be able to provide an alternative to the Japanese manufacturer’s solutions as well as avoid the use of adapters for Canon’s previous attack.
To avoid structural complications, the two new Rokinon proposals have manual focus. The exterior design has been revised to better fit the lines of the Canon offer with RF attachment and includes a metal body and weather resistance.
The ring for adjusting the opening on these lenses is also made of metal to improve control (thanks also to the non-slip finish) but also the feeling of solidity.
The Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 for Canon RF has a viewing angle of 115.7° while the minimum focusing distance is 28 cm. The typical use would be that of astrophotography, landscape, interior or architecture. The structure includes 14 elements divided into 10 groups and there are four types of lenses such as those with high refractive index, aspherical hybrid and very low dispersion.
