There’s a new review for Samsung Chromebook 2, and it is probably the best of all those seen to date. The new Chromebook ARM is available in the U.S. and UK for a week plentiful, and this allows us to have an overview of the functions. There are many good reasons to prefer it to the models of the past generation:
- The battery life is good, at least 7 hours in WiFi.
- The screen is matte, bright and well without severe distortion at the sides.
- The better finished and better built than others.
- The fanless, no mechanical parts so completely silent.
- It is good to write long, keyboard and touchpad are excellent.
- Octa Core platform holds 10/12 tab of Chrome OS without suffering.
They are all improvements over the previous generation of Samsung and HP. Apparently Samsung will be the only company to offer Chromebook ARM (HP will migrate its 11-inch x86 hardware in the coming weeks), and this could be a determining factor. In the long run, it will be an advantage or a disadvantage?
Hard to say, because of the points remain to be clarified on the performance of SoC Exynos Octa on Chrome OS. The system, for example, is still not able to support 100% management Multi-Core.
Samsung (Heterogeneous Multi-Processing, or HMP) and this leads to results less than the potential of the hardware in regards multitasking performance and fuel consumption. The research of optimization is probably the reason that has delayed the distribution of these models from April to mid-May.
Choose a Chromebook with Intel hardware ensures:
- Better performance in the case of Haswell autonomy or better with Bay Trail.
- Expenditure on average lower than that required by Samsung; probably, a guarantee of hardware optimization more long terms.
- Better compatibility with Linux alternative.
Are features that are good for the industry, because they allow to differentiate their offerings. ARM Chromebooks such as the Samsung remain the best option when looking for portability and quality finishes (the white model will be a real treat), are the only fanless now on the market and are a real rarity in the current landscape laptop; without forgetting that Chromebook is the only 13-inch Full HD with Chrome OS. They have no reason to exist, and these days it is not a small thing.
