Samsung is Gear Fit 2 SmartBand and Gear IconX headphones
Samsung renewed its offer by presenting wearable officially Gear Fit 2. The new smartband the Korean manufacturer integrates a curved display 1.5″ Super AMOLED, GPS and sensor for the heartbeat. Also Announced Bluetooth headsets with Gear Icon X Fitness functions.
Samsung has officially raised the curtain on the new fitness band, Gear Fit 2, presented in conjunction with the Gear IconX headphones. The Gear Fit 2, successor to the first Samsung Gear Fit, once again the unmistakable curved display, but it adds to the standard equipment with integrated GPS and music player stand alone. The headphones integrated, among other things, a sensor for monitoring the heartbeat.
Gear Fit 2
Gear Fit 2 is equipped with a curved display 1.5″ Super AMOLED 432 x 216 pixels. The 1 GHz dual-core processor made by Samsung, along with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage, it is called to handle the software platform based on Tizen. The integrated sensors include GPS, a sensor for detecting the heartbeat, gyroscope, barometer and accelerometer.
It lacks the altimeter, but the wearable is also able to detect the height with the remaining sensors. The presence of the integrated GPS makes it completely independent of the smartband from external devices during training sessions enhanced by the ability to view the display of wearable the route map. During training sessions, in addition, the Gear Fit 2 allows for monitoring of the heartbeat by detecting every 10 minutes.
Among the features worthy of mention are those that allow you to automatically trace the steps taken, calories burned, sleep and the type of workout. Gear Fit 2 allows the transfer of training data to the S Health app (and other fitness app supported), manages the connected smartphone notifications (messages, calls, email, and calendar apps) and allows you to send short pre-fill responses and emoticons.
To enrich the framework of the technical characteristics intervenes IP68 certification, which allows you to immerse the smartband for 30 minutes in water to a depth of 1.5 meters with no damage, and the ability to play music stored on the 4GB internal memory and supported files in MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC, M4A, AMR, AWB, OGG, OGA and 3GA, and playback can take place in a completely released from your smartphone: just connect a pair of Bluetooth headphones to smartband. The battery has a capacity of 200 mAh and offers three to four/five days of autonomy.
Samsung does not limit the coupling of smartband to produce smartphones in the first person: any Android 4.4 device (and higher) can be used with the Gear Fit 2, but lacks support for iOS devices. Gear IconX
Gear IconX headphones are designed for fitness enthusiasts with features that allow you to record during training sessions useful information such as distance, speed, calories burned and heart rate. Data can be transferred and synchronized with the S Health app.
Always turned to sports is the Voice Guide function which provides spoken feedback on the progress made during the training session. The interaction with headphones is via touch interface.
Rounds the presence of a stand-alone music player that takes advantage of the 4GB internal memory, capable of storing up to 1,000 MP3 tracks.
The headset features Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity, integrate a 47 mAh battery, weighs 6.4 grams (weight of each earpiece) and are able to withstand splashing water (P2i Nano Coating). Availability is scheduled for the beginning of the third quarter at a price of $199.99.
