How to share the internet connection on your Mac

Not all Mac users know, that this computer can share your Internet connection to other devices, which is very useful when you do not have a Wi-Fi router, but a simple router connected through an Ethernet cable or USB, and we want to extend our connection. This guide is therefore proposed to explain how to share the Internet connection on your Mac.
1.) First, connect the router to your Mac via the appropriate Ethernet cable (recommended) or USB. Check that the connection is working, and that you have full access to the Internet, of course, if the connection does not work is useless to continue in the next steps. Now go to ” System Preferences ” and then ” Sharing. ”
2.) On your left, you will find a list. Go to ” Internet Sharing ” , select it and you’ll see that on the right appear the sharing options. Select the ” Share ” your connection from ” Ethernet ” to the Computer using Wi-Fi. Now click on ” Wi-Fi Options ” and give the name of the connection you just created. Let the preset channel (change it only if you have signal problems) and set a security protocol with a password. It is recommended to use a WPA-2 Personal and enter a password that contains at least one uppercase letter, at least one lowercase letter, numbers, and if you want to play it safe, also included a special character (?!*, etc..). 3.) Now your Mac device has become a hotspot Wi-Fi. All that remains is to enable Wi-Fi on your second device at your disposal and the search network. Of course, the network to which you connect will be the one with the name you chose. Then click on ” Connect ” and enter the password you have chosen. Sometimes, on some phones in particular, the connection will be impossible, this due to problems of password encryption. If you cannot connect then, back in the ” Wi-Fi Options ” and change the type of encryption to ” WPA-2 Personal ” to ” WPA ” or ” WEP “.
