Surface Pro 4: debut in the fall, to 4K, the tablet Microsoft
With the debut of Windows 10 behind it is time to evaluate the information available on the fourth generation of the Microsoft Surface Pro tablet, the platform that is called upon to take the place of the model Surface Pro 3 that has garnered so much success since the official debut on the market.
Surface Pro 3 was put on sale in late June 2014 in some countries, with Italy to follow by the end of August. The commercial life cycle of these products is generally annual and is why we expect the debut of the fourth generation relatively short. It spent the summer, also because of the timing of the launch of Windows 10, is expected to release in the coming months with October ideal candidate.
Surface Pro 4 could adopt an integrated hardware-based CPU Core M, solutions with 14-nanometer production technology developed by Intel for tablets and mobile devices with lower consumption. But it seems more likely that the American company can continue to use Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 using models based on the new architecture Skylake. This way, Microsoft would maintain comparable performance levels of Surface Pro 4 than those of Surface Pro 3, benefiting from the improvements in terms of their overall consumption of proposals Skylake than Haswell adopted Surface Pro 3.
With the debut of Microsoft Surface Pro 4 could also choose to offer different versions of the display, moving the diagonal of 12 inches when used in the Surface Pro 3 by adopting a larger version and a smaller one. However, we believe this scenario is unlikely, especially in light of the recent presentation of Surface 3 based on x86 architecture and features a display less than 11 inches diagonally.
What Microsoft resurface definitely is a screen with a ratio of 3/2 between the sides, as it is a choice that relies entirely on increasing the productivity and flexibility of use. Possible that the resolution will be greater than that of 2,160 x 1, 440 pixels perhaps opting for a 4K, notwithstanding the possibility that the resolution of the screen will become one of the configuration options of Surface Pro 4 next to models of processor, the amount of memory system and capacity of the SSD integrated.
In light of the commercial success of Surface Pro 3, with new fourth generation Microsoft is called to offer something new that can better capture the interest of consumers. We do not expect a radical distortion of the outer structure and size, as it has been in transition from Surface Pro 2 to Surface Pro 3, but a trend that points to the new hardware technologies available, and the tight integration with the features provided from Windows 10.
