The TeamViewer remote desktop application has been updated and now become universal, and compatible with a single package both on smartphones and tablets than on traditional personal computers.
TeamViewer is probably among the most popular remote desktop client ever in the consumer. Free to individuals and paid for business use, it can be used to manage your home computer when you are around, or help someone in need, even remotely. The development team has released a universal app for Windows 10 on Windows Store, which has been redesigned to be compatible with all types of devices.
Launched a few months, Windows 10 cannot yet compete with other platforms in terms of compatible applications. No match especially in terms of application’s universal format that has just debuted with the latest operating system in the Microsoft ecosystem. However, developers are showing particular interest, and that of TeamViewer is but the latest example of the converted application to follow the dictates of Windows 10.
The team behind the application has not yet given a specific changelog for the version which introduced the new graphical interface, but now you can install it on a Windows 10 desktop and enjoy cropped interface specially on larger displays than typical smartphone.
For the uninitiated, TeamViewer allows users to remotely control Windows, Mac and Linux, either through smartphones or through other computers. The connection between the devices is protected by the protocols AES 256-bit and RSA 2,048-bit to avoid problems in terms of privacy, but its popularity in the consumer market is mainly due to the extreme simplicity of configuration, a feature that makes it ideal for works of remote assistance.
