The potential for new Notifications Center, Messages, and Game Center in iOS 8

Another day, other rumors. Mark Gurman of 9to5Mac.com now continues its extensive series of articles on iOS 8, thanks to the crop through its sources so far always proved reliable.

This evening it is more than a collection of small pieces of information dedicated to various aspects of the next version of Apple’s mobile operating system. Notifications Center, Messages, Game Center, and more are on the menu this evening.

Starting right from the Notifications Center, the current configuration in the three tabs (Today, All, Missed) could be revised with a view to simplification. Today Notifications and would remain, with the latter would encompass any notification, including those lost. Thanks to the know-how acquired with the entry of former team-app developers Cue In addition, the amount of information available on the page today is expected to grow. Therefore, not limited to weather, share and frame as in iOS 7.

As for messages, it would be minor changes, mainly the ability to automatically delete old conversations after a certain time, doing so in a way that does not accumulate over time by reducing the space available in the iDevice.

Voice Memos for promises instead a new aesthetic make-up in order to improve the user experience currently under appreciated by users. At the risk elimination Game Center: dedicated to the use of the app is very low, so Apple is considering the possibility of making it, mostly a service callable within individual games that support it.

We now turn to potential new global capabilities of the system. The API for inter-app communication, which allows applications to interact and integrate with each other as needed, would be in testing in the laboratories of One Infinite Loop, with a development in progress for more than two years. In this way, continuing the example done by 9to5Mac.Com, a software dedicated to image processing may submit directly to the final results of the Facebook app for posting on social networks.

In a limited form, exclusively for the applications of the audio industry, is already present in iOS 7 and the full version would be removed before the public launch for unspecified reasons. Considered the ” push and pull ” it is good that the third-party developers to maintain a more cautious optimism, waiting for any positive developments at WWDC.

The portion of today’s rumors going to close with increases in performance, always welcome (hoping they also remember the energy consumption), and CarPlay, which should get a new mode of connection to the edge of the car through Wi-Fi and not only Cable Lightning.

A long journey still before we see iOS 8 live, since in the best case missing three months at the annual conference for developers (dates should be announced towards the end of April, if Apple acts the same as last year). On Twitter already a few days ago Gurman anticipated further developments in the next week. An almost alarming amount of points collected, which raises the question: we risk arriving at the Moscone Center without surprise?
