Toshiba X300, high-performance consumer hard drive and capacity up to 8TB
Compared to the previous P300 series, with only ” 3TB ” capacity, the X300 Series is already available in 4TB, 5TB and 6TB formats, and the new 8TB version will soon be released.
Toshiba announces the expansion of the 3.5 ” high-performance X300 hard drive series designed for desktop solutions such as workstations and All-In-One PCs, with a new model that offers 8TB dedicated bandwidth consumer, always with an eye on performance.
Compared to the previous P300 high-performance series, with only ” 3TB ” capacity, the X300 series maintains the same technical features but is aiming for higher performance and capacity performance: already available in 4 TB, 5 TB and 6 TB, the new version of 8 TB will also be released this month.
All versions feature 128 MB of cache, twice as much as the P300, giving you a better access to data thanks to the adoption of a new algorithm designed by Toshiba for caching, optimizing its allocation during read/write.
Format 3.5″, 7.200 RPM and SATA connections up to 6 Gbit/s are the remaining features of the series, which can be an easy upgrade for most desktop systems, especially in terms of storage capability, and with a good capacity / performance / cost ratio: the models already available can be found at around $149 for the 4TB version and $209 for the 6TB version, for the new 8TB version the cost $259.
