The paper book was and is undoubtedly an excellent companion for leisure, with that load of charm acquired over the past 1000 years of history. The advent of e-books should be seen as something that stands alongside the traditional reading experience, in which technology has in place some objective advantages, of course paying something in terms of charm.

Valentine’s Day could be an opportunity to try to make the jump, taking advantage of some offers that allow you to access the world of e-book with a minor financial commitment. There are many different models of the e-book readers, which is why it is good to give a brief summary of the characteristics that distinguish them.

First of all, why buy an e-book reader when a tablet or even a smartphone allow you to read books in a digital format? To unite all the e-book reader, we find a completely different screen that simulates the paper in every way. The most common technology, called E-Ink, ensures a reading experience very similar to the paper; the display of the tablet and the smartphone toil much more the view, because of the type of panel that integrated.

The best seller : Amazon Kindle. The best-selling product, these days even with $20 discount. It has direct access to the Amazon catalog (also with the formula Kindle Unlimited), and offer a 6-inch touch display and autonomy of up to four weeks (counting 30 minutes of reading per day). The memory capacity amounts to 4 GB.

To read also epub : Kobo. Direct competitor, Kobo offers similar features as the 6-inch touch display, autonomy virtually identical but a quantity of less memory, 2 GB. Among the benefits to be mentioned is the compatibility with both the MOBI format, with both the common epub (Kindles to do not read them natively), apart from the PDF.

With backlight? Amazon Kindle Paperwhite. The e-book reader imitated in all respects the paper, then serves light to read. For some time, there are also models backlit, so that it can also be read without the need for an adequate environmental light. It is the best-selling Amazon Kindle Paperwhite. You may have even 3G version. Also for this model is on a promotion that lowers the cost of $20. The main features, in addition to the backlight, are 4 GB of storage, Wi-Fi, the battery can last 8 weeks (half an hour a day with wireless off and light set to 10), access to the Amazon catalog and excellent overall quality.

But not the only one: Kobo Aura. As in the case previously mentioned, there are competitors for the Paperwhite such as the excellent Kobo Aura that is modeled on the features, including backlit screen. Again, we find 4 GB of storage, although the main reason for which we should opt for this model is the native compatibility with the ePub format.
