VMWare updates the cloud offer
The digital transformation passes from the cloud and VMware wants to be the protagonist with the opening of the new AWS Cloud Region in Paris, Canada and Singapore.

VMware Cloud Foundation: The hybrid cloud solution
Cloud Foundation is the VMware platform for SDDC, Software Defined Data Centers, virtualized data centers. It offers the network infrastructure as well as the cloud management services needed to manage and optimize it: in practice, it includes all the tools necessary to set up a hybrid cloud on which to run business applications, scalable with growing needs and suitable for reality of enterprise level
By the first quarter of this year, version 3.7 of the Cloud Foundation will be published, and a pre-configured and pre-tested server will be available on the Dell EMC VxRail appliance, almost a turnkey solution for the hybrid cloud.

The new VMware Cloud on AWS Region
One of the advantages of the Cloud Foundation is the ease of integration with Amazon’s cloud services. This simplicity is due to the fact that, there is a Cloud Foundation at the base of VMWare Cloud on AWS, which allows you to quickly expand the infrastructure on promise or move it entirely to the cloud, always working in the same environment and with the same tools as management: a huge advantage from the point of view of IT managers.
Three existing VMWare Cloud on AWS Regions are now joined by three more: AWS EU (Paris), AWS Canada (Central) and AWS APJ (Singapore).
VMware CloudHealth, to bring order to multi-cloud environments
There are still many companies that still take the big step and are considering whether to move architecture to the cloud, mainly for reasons due to the costs and complexity of the migration. VMWare’s answer is CloudHealth, a platform that allows you to keep costs and the use of the cloud under control, helping technicians to identify the most resource-hungry applications and to precisely monitor, how the budget is spent.
A real scenario of using CloudHealth comes from Coinstar, a company that manages one of the largest networks of self-service kiosks in the world to convert money, electronic gift cards or donations.

Among the new features of CloudHealth, we highlight the advanced features of multi-cloud reporting, multidimensional reporting, reporting workspaces, convertible Reserved Instance (RI), visibility of container clutters and cross-family reorganization for Amazon EC2, although the most interesting aspect is the integration with Wavefront analysis and monitoring services.
