WD My Cloud extends the family with new NAS solutions for business users

Western Digital has expanded its portfolio of solution’s NAS (Network Attached Storage) with four new products that meet the growing demand for storage, management, protection and stream digital content by prosumers, creative professionals and small businesses.

Family My Cloud Expert Series are added NAS systems to high performance My Cloud EX2100 (two slots) and My Cloud EX4100 (four slots) designed for creative professionals and prosumers who need to save, share, back up, stream and manage large amounts of data. Equipped with the latest version of the dual-core processor Marvell ARMADA, these two new arrivals family Expert Series offer fast to read/write at the top of their category for simultaneous streaming of multimedia content in HD high performance and up to 24 TB of capacity storage.

The new My Cloud Business Series includes My Cloud DL2100 (two slots) and My Cloud DL4100 (four slots), two secure and scalable solutions designed for small businesses. Equipped with Intel Atom dual-core processor and up to 24 TB of storage capacity, the series My Cloud Business leverages the consolidated operating software (OS) WD My Cloud, based on Linux.

For photographers, video makers, graphic designers and other professionals who need to manage files of higher and higher dimensions – from images to RAW 4K video – new products My Cloud Expert Series include the latest dual-core Marvell ARMADA 385 and 388 ideal for streaming media, offering up to 24 TB of storage and the ability to keep your files safe, protected and accessible remotely.

Security features and data management allow you to select various modes of management, sharing and protection. The WD Red can be configured using different RAID options (depending on model) including RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 and JBOD spanning mode. Products My Cloud Expert Series can be exploited to centralize and back up computer and notebook using WD SmartWare Pro for PC users, and Time Machine on OS X.

Products My Cloud Expert Series can also be exploited as a hub of digital entertainment, to stream movies and music to any media device certified DLNA / UPnP as game consoles, smart TV and WD TV media players. The Twonky media server, DLNA certified, and the iTunes server make it possible to stream movies and music collections large.

Of particular interest also integrated file server, FTP server, backup server and server P2P download. You can monitor the health of the system (diagnostics), manage users and power-saving features with dashboard My Cloud, as well as customize the My Cloud NAS Expert Series with a suite of third-party apps, such as aMule, Icecast, Transmission, DVBLink, SqueezeCenter and more.

Solutions My Cloud Business Series exploit the dual-core Intel Atom, integrate up to 2GB of RAM and offer up to 24 TB of capacity for data storage. There are functions for encryption AES 256-bit and available options RAID (RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, JBOD and spanning modes) that help protect and keep your data safe. You can perform a full backup on another device My Cloud deployed elsewhere, or on third-party cloud services such as Amazon S3 and ElephantDrive.

You can also take advantage of the one-touch copy button USB 3.0 to automatically copy data from an external USB storage device to the NAS. My Cloud Business Series products are characterized by a number of features ” business-ready ” including target and initiator iSCSI, file replication and synchronization, integrated FTP, WebDAV server, SSH Shell, and support Microsoft Active Directory. In addition, there are redundancies enterprise which doubles power ports with failover, dual Gigabit Ethernet and UPS support. The series My Cloud Business also offers the possibility of expanding the RAM up to 6GB, and scalable storage with dual network cards and USB.

The WD My Cloud mobile app gives you access to products wherever My Cloud and see photos, stream videos and share, save and manage files anywhere on iOS and Android devices. The mobile app offers features for sharing and collaboration, allowing you to email files, share them in the form of a link, print and open them with third-party app. The mobile app WD My Cloud also integrates the major public cloud services allowing doi transfer files from Dropbox account, OneDrive and Google Drive.
