WD My Cloud expands its family of solutions for the personal cloud with the My Cloud EX2, a network attached storage (NAS) in two bays to high performance. My Products My Cloud EX2 and MY Cloud EX4 are designed from the ground up for creative professionals and advanced users who need to save, share, backup, manage and send streaming large amounts of digital data safely.
Different characteristics of management and data security enable customers to customize how you prefer to management and protection of movies, photos, music and digital files. Management options include disk RAID 0, RAID 1, JBOD and spanning mode, while options include RAID 1 data protection, USB, cloud backup or LAN / WAN.
The My Cloud EX2 is set up with RAID 1 configuration to protect data since their inception and is easily configurable in other modes of data protection. In addition, customers can use the My Cloud EX2 to centralize and back up all of their computers and devices with the WD SmartWare Software Pro for PC users, while Mac users can utilize all the features of Apple Time Machine backup software to protect their data.
The line My Cloud EX2 offers customers the choice between different options of capacity, including a diskless homes that lets users build their own NAS drives of their choice, as well as systems that have disks with a capacity of 4TB, 6TB, or 8TB. In addition, users can connect USB hard drive USB 3.0 to expansion ports on their My Cloud EX2 to instantly increase their storage capacity.
Versions of My Cloud EX2 equipped with disks link on WD hard drives for Red offer uncompromising reliability in NAS environment operating 24 × 7. The note app WD My Cloud for mobile and desktop provides the ability to access the entire product family wherever My Cloud. Users of the app WD My Mobile Cloud can view photos, stream video, and share, save and manage files everywhere easily from their iOS and Android devices. The mobile app makes it simple file sharing and collaboration, enabling customers to send files via email in a simple way, share files as a link, and print and open files with third party apps.
The mobile app WD My Cloud integrates the main public cloud services so that customers can easily transfer files from your public cloud account Dropbox, SkyDrive and Google Drive. With the desktop app WD My Cloud navigates, manage and share your digital files wherever in the world is simple and intuitive.
My Cloud EX2 includes integrated file server, FTP server, backup server and server to download P2P and provides advanced options for data serving users My Cloud EX2. In addition, users can access a suite of third-party applications, including aMule, Icecast, Joomla, phpBB, phpMyAdmin, Transmission, SqueezeCenter, and more.
