Windows 10 also for smartphones: Lumia models which will be updated immediately

Microsoft indicates a large group of family Lumia smartphone that can be upgraded to Windows 10 when the OS will be released for these platforms: missing some very popular model in the list, but it’s only a matter of time.

Now that the debut of the Windows 10 operating system for desktop and laptop occurred, with availability for the update from the date of yesterday, Microsoft is preparing to migrate also the other types of devices to the new OS.

The reference is then directed to Windows 10 for smartphones, and specifically to the solutions of the family Lumia. Microsoft has officially confirmed as soon as the operating system Windows 10 for mobile systems will be released that will be immediately updated on models Lumia 430, Lumia 435, Lumia 532, Lumia 535, Lumia 540, Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 735, Lumia 830 and Lumia 930.

This list is missing some models of Lumia family that have experienced commercial success in recent years. But we must not think that the compatibility between smartphone Lumia and Windows 10 is limited to only these models: at present, it all Lumia devices running Windows Phone 8 can be upgraded to Windows 10 through Windows program Insider.

Unlike what happened in the PC industry, it is conceivable that Microsoft wants to proceed with an update of its Lumia smartphones in different step, opening the new OS some models at a time. At this point, one might wonder when Windows 10 will be made available officially for smartphone platform, but we have, at least at the present time, an official response from Microsoft.
