Xiaomi Mi 5X: With 5.5 inches display, Snapdragon 625 and Hi-Fi audio
The Xiaomi Mi 5X is a mid-range smartphone with excellent technical features and an extremely interesting price tag.
Xiaomi announced on Wednesday a new mid-range smartphone with the aim of solidifying the market position in this particular segment, especially in China where it draws much of its commercial success.
Xiaomi Mi 5X is a device with unibody aluminum body that partially reminds us of OnePlus 5 on the aesthetic level, but boasts different and less sought after technical features. With a thickness of just 7.3 millimeters, this smartphone features a 5.5-inch Full HD display with IPS LTPS LCD technology and a 3,080 mAh battery.
Underneath the body, we find the good Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, of last generation but characterized by great energy efficiency and good performance. The processor is matched with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage by also accepting expandability via micro SD memory cards of up to 128GB.
Xiaomi Mi 5X will use the new MIUI 9 ROM based on Android 7.1.1, implementing all the novelties we have already discussed at this address. The rear camera will be based on a dual module.
The two sensors will be both 12 megapixels: the main matched to a f/2.2 lens with a focal length equivalent to 26mm, while the secondary will offer an optical zoom with a f/2.6 aperture lens and an equivalent focal length of 50mm.
The camera will use a dual-phase autofocus and dual-flash, implementing the ability to put special effects on photos even in production. For the front we find a 5 megapixel module.
The new Xiaomi device can record at 4K Ultra HD resolution up to 30 fps, and supports the list of connectivity solutions typical of the category: Wi-Fi dual-band, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS, USB 2.0 Type-C and there are also FM radio and infrared port.
It is missing, according to what is known today, the 800MHz band for the 4G LTE networks, used by some operators in Italy. The smartphone uses a dedicated audio amplifier with support of DHS Audio Calibrating Algorithm technology for quality Hi-Fi lovers.
Xiaomi Mi 5X will soon be available in China at a price of 1,499 Yuan.
