Xiaomi Poco F1: The cheapest smartphone with Snapdragon 845
According to what was declared during the launch event in India, Poco F1 is the cheapest smartphone in the world to integrate the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845.
Xiaomi has just introduced the much-discussed Pocophone F1 during an event in New Delhi, India. It is a model designed to diversify the Chinese manufacturer’s line-up with proposals that have a value for money that is even higher than the traditional models sold under the original brand.
Poco F1 is described as the cheapest smartphone in circulation with Snapdragon 845, and has a starting price of 20,999 INR.
The Poco F1 display is an IPS diagonal LCD of 6.18″ at full HD resolution with an aspect ratio of 18.7: 9 ( 2,246×1,080 pixels ).The front side has no physical buttons, and is present – as by now tradition wants – the notch on the upper part that creates two ” ears ” on the two sides. In the sensors present there is also an infrared sensor, which serves to make more reliable the unlocking via face recognition as an authentication system.
The panel is protected by a glass Gorilla Glass plate, even if the company has not specified which version. The flagship of the new Poco F1 is the Snapdragon 845 integrated, despite the low price list. The SoC is combined with a 6 GB or 8 GB RAM memory compartment, while the storage cuts present at the launch will be three in India: 64, 128 and 256 GB. On the back, we find two 12 + 5 MP cameras, with f/1.9 lens.
On the hardware level, it is likely that it is the same setup of Xiaomi Mi 8, with the main sensor that is the Sony IMX363. On the front, along the notch, there is also a 20 MP camera with f / 2.0 lens. Regarding the software, the smartphone uses the first MIUI 9.6 proprietary based on Android Oreo, customized specifically for the smartphone. It is called MIUI for Poco, and implements a new basic theme that recalls Nova Launcher.
According to the company, the smartphone should receive the MIUI 10 based on Android Pie already within the next three months. Very interesting also the specifications of the built-in battery: Poco F1 integrates a 4,000 mAh unit with support for the Quick Charge 3.0 quick charge through the 18W adapter provided. There are two speakers (in stereo configuration) inserted in the body, one on the bottom, and the other in the telephone box.
Poco F1 also implements the LiquidCool technology, which should ensure high performance even in the long term with 3D video games, and keep the temperatures of the integrated components low. The smartphone will be offered in three different colors: Graphite Black, Steel Blue and Red. And there’s also a fourth option, called the Armored Edition, which uses a Kevlar back shell for better scratch resistance and superior grip.
Prices start at 20.999 INR, as we have already said, for the 6/64 GB version. Below are all the prices of the different variants with the consideration in Euro:
