From China comes the final challenge which takes the form of a smartphone: about $100, Xiaomi proposes a device on paper excellent from all points of view.
In 2015, many manufacturers have been able to deliver excellent quality of smartphone below the threshold of $300 and we can cite Xiaomi, OnePlus and Huawei among producers who have distinguished themselves in this regard.
But in 2016 it seems that the trend will be even more extreme in order to bring real democracy in the smartphone. The first to try it with the latest smartphone Xiaomi announced, Xiaomi Redmi 3 from about $100.
At the announced price of 699 yuan, the company offers a device with all-metal body, HD display (1,280 x 720) by 5 inches and a battery of well 4,100 mAh that combined with a diagonal not too generous, promises sparks on the front of the autonomy operational. The smartphone uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 616 octa-core processor supported by 2 GB of RAM and a ROM 16 GB expandable.
It seems very nice also the photographic industry, with the introduction of a 13-megapixel sensor with phase detection autofocus and optical aperture f/2.0. According to the company, the main camera should focus and be ready to shoot in just 0.1 seconds, probably in the best condition. On the front, we find a 5-megapixel camera.
The smartphone comes with Android custom MIUI through 7 and is compatible with two SIM cards simultaneously. The second slot is shared with that of the microSD, so the user can decide whether to increase the integrated storage or whether to use the dual-SIM. The whole is integrated inside a body of 8.5 mm thick which brings the overall weight of the device to about 144 grams.
Clearly, the most interesting part of the new device is its built-in battery, a unit from 4.100mAh compatible with technologies rapid charge 5V/2A. The hardware is then combined with software developed some tricks on the MIUI ROM 7 which should extend the autonomy of the smartphone by another 25%. The call times since a last model Redmi 3 thus increasing by 80%, at least according to data released by the company.
Xiaomi Redmi 3 is available in China in three different colors, dark gray, silver and gold, and can be bought online in the country at the price of 699 yuan. We do not know yet if the device officially reach Europe, although it is likely that it will be purchased shortly through the usual channels unofficial.
