Xiaomi: The first 5G smartphone on sale in Switzerland
Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G is the first smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer to officially reach the market. The announcement was currently made for the Swiss market with an operator as a partner, but may not end there.
5G connectivity flies fast to its adoption for consumer users and one of the first companies to be able to market a salable solution is Xiaomi.
The Chinese manufacturer announced its first 5G smartphone called Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G during the MWC 2019 in Barcelona and aims to be an important test for consumer interest. But today we have gone from ” words to deeds. ”
Xiaomi has indeed announced that starting from May 2nd 2019, with its partner Sunrise, the new Mi MIX 3 5G is actually on sale and available for purchase in Switzerland. To convince users of the quality of the project and performance, it will also be possible to try out 5G connectivity in the operator’s shops.
The possibility of using the new connection mode is given by the integration of the Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 5G modem which is able to connect with sub-6GHz frequencies. This makes it possible to obtain download speeds of 1 Gbit/s.
In addition to the adoption of the 5G, the new Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G is still a complete product even in use with the ” old ” connection modes thanks to high-level hardware features.
For example: we find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC (with advanced cooling (Rogers HeatSORB) coupled to 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage with UFS 2.1 technology. The design takes up the idea of not having notch and with reduced edges thanks to the use of a mechanical type slider.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G cameras are two 24 MPixel and 2 MPixel fronts and two 12 MPixel rear (with 2X telephoto lenses) and 12 MPixel standard. The front screen is 6.39″ with FHD resolution and AMOLED panel. The battery has a capacity of 3,800 mAh with Quick Charge 4.0 (9V 2A) and of course there is no lack of Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C and a slot for a SIM.
