From Zotac first mini PC with AMD Ryzen
The manufacturer in Hong Kong expands the Magnus lines with the latest hardware innovations, as far as processors and more are concerned.
The new Magnus EK and ER series of Zotac will arrive with the latest Intel and AMD processors and with the Zotac GeForce GTX 1070/1060 Mini video cards. The goal is to provide the same performance as desktop counterparts, but obviously keeping the dimensions very small.
The Magnus EK series will equip the seventh-generation Intel Core processors based on Kaby Lake architecture. These processors will be presented with operating frequencies higher than the standard, just to meet the needs of the players. In addition, Intel Optane memories will offer particularly low access times and ample storage capacity.
The Magnus ER series, on the other hand, represents what Zotac defines as the first series of mini PCs with AMD Ryzen processors. All models support up to 32 GB of DDR4 2400MHz SODIMM system memory and are capable of accommodating both M.2 and 2.5-inch storage units. They are also equipped with second generation USB 3.1 ports, which provide twice the throughput compared to what was able to do the previous generation, up to 10Gbps.
There is a USB 2.0 port, along with three DisplayPort 1.4 and one DL-DVI. The most important thing for these systems, however, is that they remain stable and silent, and for this Zotac has thought of a cooling system based on a radial fan and an intelligent and compact thermal design.
These are solutions designed primarily to marry the latest generation virtual reality applications, to reduce the clutter and at the same time guarantee the computational capacity to manage complex modern VR experiences.
